I.  Where are you Focused?  ( starting with your work or business first!)

Take a couple of minutes, right now, to discover or deepen your focus from the inside out. Tap into your feminine wisdom. Discover stillness at the end of the breath by slowing down to breathe 3 times in and out. Then ask yourself the first question, then the next and the next. Pay attention to what comes into your mind, even if it sounds crazy, and write...let yourself write... or speak to a good friend.

  • What will make your heart sing? What might ignite your passion?

  • What's one way you could you include more of this in your business or work?

  • What support do you need to reach new levels of success?
  • What is one small step you will take this week? When?

"The beginning the edge the moment a change arrives stillness is the way to catch it to be there at that very moment but how often is stillness with us?  Are we still?" ~ On the Wind, Mary Oliver

II. Confidence Builders: Centering Questions

If you are feeling off-balance, drained or uncertain. What options are there other than eating chocolate? Take a breath, lower your shoulders back down, and ask yourself one of these questions.

Do you find yourself in a complicated or confusing situation?

Centering in yourself first is the way to build your confidence and make smart choices. Here are a few questions to use before you initiate a tricky conversation or if you are feeling unsure.

Ask yourself:

  1. Right now, what do I know to be true?

  2. Right now, what am I curious about? What questions do I have? (be careful not to blame with a question like - How could you have done that to me!! – instead – I wonder why he did that?)

  3. What is the bigger context that this moment sits within? What are the circumstances or events that formed the situation?

  4. When was a time when I felt centered, strong and in-balance? How did that feel? Where was this located in my body? How can I grow this feeling and use it as the basis of my next step?

These questions can open your mind and heart to you – your wisest self, natural magnificence and your endless possibilities.

Give yourself a few minutes of quiet. One busy mom we know takes them in the car and chooses a question for reflection when she’s waiting for the kids to get out of a class. A senior level manager answers one/week in her calendar book.

The questions empower you to strengthen your core as a wise leader, whether you lead in your family, community, workplace. Ask yourself frequently or schedule a special time to focus on just you. Choose one to ask yourself as you go to sleep, then write first thing in the morning. This time is a precious gift you give to you.

Georgia O’Keefe (1887-1986) American painter.
